![]() | Next on the giant list of levels is Tube of Medusa. It is essentially the same thing as the final version, but because you have to use a keyboard, it is impossible. |
---|---|
![]() | The Giant Medusa's sprite is complete. I was afraid Appaloosa would use another crab-on-a-string in its place. If you fall off the level, you end up in BETA Skylands. |
![]() | The next level is Moray Abyss. It is complete, aside from a few things. |
![]() | As in the final version, a red snake comes out of the shell. |
![]() | Like in the final version, sea snakes attack from the side as well. But they are red instead of green. |
![]() | When the shell reaches the bottom, Ecco does battle with the pansy. |
![]() | Ram the sea snake's head a few times, he dies, and the first two of the Asterite's globes come out. |
![]() | This message appears. Errr... I have no idea what to make of it. "You are great" was a better thing to say.
My guess is either: 1. The creators punched in the wrong message number and got that, or 2. They entered a random one for filler in the code until there was a message for the story there. - Deven Gallo Now in his email Deven told me that that phrase was from both Ecco 1 and 2, but I don't think so. As I recall there are no active shelled ones in ecco 2, so reason number one can't work. My guess, considering how similar Ecco one and Ecco 2 beta are to each other, in ecco 2 beta they planned for you to heal yourself on shelled ones, which would make number 2 possible. They removed it in the final version. Or, as I think, it was a private joke. |
![]() | Then, a piece of rock is removed, and you can leave. |
![]() | Next on the list is the utterly amazing.... Atlantis stage. City of Forever, to be exact. The graphics are all glitchy, with yellow outlines on everything. |
![]() | This little box's graphic messes up when Ecco gets near it. |
![]() | Select invincibilty from the debug menu in Atlantis, and Ecco gets sparkly things around him. |
![]() | Here is the Time Machine. If Ecco sonars the left dish, these stone tiles crush him. No doubt this was created to anger gamers for no reason whatsoever. |
![]() | Sonar the right one, (Right as in direction. But, due to an amazing coincidence, the right one is the right one, as in correct.) and Ecco gets time travelin'. |
![]() | The next level is one I wish Appaloosa hadn't removed. It is an early version of a Vortex Future level, and it has tons of never-before-seen sprites! WOW!!!! |
![]() | This little pointy thing tries skewering Ecco. Talk about spear fishing. |
![]() | There are lttle electric charge thingies as well. |
![]() | Then the coolest thing in the world appears!!! It is an object of great controversy. Some say it is a mechanical shark due to its shape, some say it is a mechanical dolphin due to its pointy nose it attacks you with, and I'm the only person who says it is based on something Vortex. Oh yeah.... a crab too. |
![]() | The shark/dolphin/vortex attacks Ecco as the crab throws down barrels. |
![]() | The barrels explode, too. |
![]() | The next level is based on Lunar Bay. If the Vortex Drone catches you, you go back to the Vortex Future level. |
![]() | Here's a shot of the moon. |
![]() | Here's an obligatory piece of scientific looking junk. The exit to this level is stage right. |
![]() | The next level is Vortex Queen fight. There is no background. |
![]() | She tries to eat you. If you get eaten, you restart the level, not go to the stomach level. |
![]() | There is no way to beat this level. The Vortex Queen is invincible. |
![]() | The next level is 1 percent complete and very boring. Here are those mean looking plants from the future. |
![]() | They forgot to implement a little thing I like to call SOLIDITY!!!! |
![]() | And... the last shot is of some Asterite globes. The end. |
